Hello, I'm Meghan.
Meghan Sheahan is a trauma-informed Art Therapist and Art Therapist Registered-Provisional (ATR-P) on the Carmel Therapy Network team in our Carmel Office. She provides compassionate, creative, and individualized therapy that integrates traditional psychotherapy with art therapy and expressive approaches.

Meghan believes that sometimes words alone are not enough to fully express what we are experiencing. Art therapy can offer another way to explore emotions, experiences, relationships, and patterns while creating space for reflection, insight, and healing. Her approach is collaborative and supportive, allowing clients to engage in the therapeutic process in ways that feel comfortable and authentic to them.

In sessions, Meghan may incorporate art-making, creative expression, imagery, and other experiential interventions alongside traditional talk therapy. Art therapy is not about artistic ability or creating something that looks a certain way. No art experience is needed. Instead, the creative process can become a tool for exploring experiences that may feel difficult to identify, organize, or communicate through words alone.

Meghan takes a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes emotional safety, choice, trust, and collaboration. Rather than pushing clients to process experiences before they are ready, she works at an individualized pace while helping clients develop greater emotional awareness, strengthen coping and regulation skills, and better understand themselves and their experiences.

Art therapy may be especially meaningful for clients who feel stuck in traditional talk therapy, have difficulty putting emotions into words, enjoy creative or experiential approaches, or are looking for a different way to connect with themselves in therapy. Meghan creates an environment where both conversation and creativity can be part of the therapeutic process.

At Carmel Therapy Network, Meghan also participates in ongoing clinical and art therapy supervision as she continues her professional development and works toward advanced clinical and art therapy credentials.
