Hello, I'm Brenna!

Brenna Barnard is a trauma-informed Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) at Carmel Therapy Network who provides trauma-informed psychotherapy to adolescents (14+) and adults through in-person sessions at our Fishers and Carmel office locations, as well as telehealth throughout Indiana. Brenna joined the Carmel Therapy Network team in July 2026.

She specializes in treating eating disorders, trauma, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, body image concerns, and perfectionism. Brenna is passionate about helping people move beyond surviving and begin building lives that feel meaningful, connected, and aligned with their values.

With more than five years of experience specializing in eating disorder treatment across multiple levels of care, Brenna has worked extensively with individuals experiencing anorexia nervosa, atypical anorexia, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, OSFED, disordered eating, and body image concerns. She understands that recovery is rarely linear and believes every person's healing journey deserves an individualized, compassionate approach. In addition to eating disorders, Brenna supports clients navigating trauma and PTSD, anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, perfectionism, chronic stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, emotion regulation difficulties, postpartum adjustment, women's mental health, and identity exploration.

Her work is grounded in trauma-informed, evidence-based care and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Body Neutrality principles.

Many of the people Brenna works with are rebuilding their relationship with food and their body, healing from trauma, learning to manage anxiety or OCD, or navigating a difficult season of life. No matter what brings someone to therapy, her goal is to help clients better understand themselves, build resilience, and create lasting change. Together, therapy focuses on developing practical coping skills, increasing emotional awareness, fostering greater safety within the nervous system, strengthening relationships, and living in greater alignment with each person's values. Brenna is committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can move at a pace that feels right for them while also feeling encouraged, challenged, and empowered throughout the healing process.

Outside of the therapy room, Brenna enjoys raising her two daughters, spending quality time with family and friends, exploring local community events, and unwinding with reality TV or a favorite podcast. She believes healing isn't only about overcoming life's biggest challenges; it is also found in being fully present and appreciating the everyday moments that make us human.

Standard Notice GFE LAW: “Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges” Under the No Surprises Act. Beginning January 1, 2022: If you’re uninsured or you pay for healthcare bills yourself ('self-pay, you don’t have your claims submitted to your health insurance plan), providers and facilities must provide you with an estimate of expected charges before you receive an item or service. You can receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under this law, health and mental healthcare providers must give clients who don’t have insurance or are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health or mental healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask about your health or mental healthcare provider and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill of at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, click here or call HHS at (800) 368-1019.
